What makes us special?
Friends of St. Francis is in a brand new building. The building contains both Friends of St. Francis and St Francis Episcopal Church. The space that Friends of St. Francis occupies (approximately one-third of the building) was designed specifically for children, aged 2-6.
Our rooms are kid-friendly, equipped with handicap-accessible children’s bathrooms, and engineered for the security and safety of the children and staff.
Additionally, spiritual and support resources of St. Francis Episcopal Church are available to Friends of St. Francis. This means that the congregation endorses Friends of St. Francis events and that the clergy of St. Francis are available to tell the children Bible stories and to teach them faith songs.
We believe that God is real, that Jesus teaches us about God, and that every human being is a beloved child of God. We will not tell children (or adults) what to believe. We are not interested in asking anyone to affirm any specific doctrine, declaration of faith, or denominational affiliation. We are interested in demonstrating God’s love for children by the way we treat them.
We have limited the size of Friends of St. Francis to 24 children. And we have staffed Friends of St. Francis so that each teacher is assigned and responsible for 6 children. The sole focus of our qualified teachers is the welfare, learning, and self-esteem of the children under our care.
Friends of St. Francis is committed to providing children with experiences that deepen their love of their world, each other, and themselves.
Friends of St. Francis Childcare Center is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where children can grow through play and through organized activities. Our goal is to provide children with an awareness of their value as unique human beings who are loved by God.
